How to choose an OpenCreators store theme

OpenCreators in one minute

  • Templates change presentation; product titles, descriptions, prices, and media remain catalog data.
  • Preview with the creator's longest real text and actual image shapes on desktop and mobile.
  • Choose readable hierarchy, stable actions, and accessible contrast before visual novelty.

A storefront template changes how creator identity and catalog data are arranged. OpenCreators loads the available template names and color options from profile system configuration, so the exact selection can change without altering the underlying product records.

Choose the template that makes the real catalog easiest to understand. A visually striking theme is not successful if long titles collide, descriptions disappear, price buttons lose contrast, or the mobile crop hides the subject.

Judge the profile first

The public page should establish the creator before the visitor compares products. Check the avatar, display name, profile description, background treatment, and the position of the Home or Join action for the current authentication state.

Use the longest realistic profile description during preview. The description should remain complete where the design expects complete copy and should not overlap the product grid at narrow widths.

Test real product extremes

A template must handle short and long titles, service and game descriptions, portrait and landscape media, multiple price formats, and different catalog sizes. Test at least one of each product kind the store will publish.

For game cards, confirm that the game short description appears in the intended location and service copy does not accidentally reuse it. Product-type-specific content should remain distinct across preview and published views.

Check actions and contrast

The primary product action should remain visible and readable against the selected colors. Text, card surfaces, status states, and focus treatment need sufficient contrast. Do not choose a combination based only on a static hero area.

Open the page while signed in and signed out. A creator or customer who is already authenticated should see the appropriate Home action rather than an invitation intended for a new visitor.

Verify the published page

Preview and published pages should use the same template mapping, but the final public URL remains the decisive check because it loads current profile and catalog data. Compare desktop and mobile at the same product state.

If changing templates later, repeat the full review. A template update can reveal text or media assumptions that were hidden by the previous layout.

Frequently asked questions

Does a theme change the creator's products?

No. A theme changes layout and visual presentation. Product data remains attached to the published catalog.

Can every account see the same theme list?

The web app reads available template names and colors from system configuration. The list can therefore change as configuration evolves.
